Aquatic plants play a major role in the natural diet in the wild. Turtles would not eat just one kind of plant though. Feed yours anacharis, duckweed, water lettuce, and other aquatic plants. When aquatic plants aren't available, you can use leafy greens from a grocey store. RES will also enjoy squash, tomato, thin slices of carrot, figs, kiwis, and other fruits and vegetables. Most RES owners feed far too much meat protein to their turtles.
