I just keep the lettuce floating in my tank all of the time for them to nibble on (although they don't). If I were you I would not consider it part of their feeding time just a supplement to their regular feeding. Have you ever tried anachris? I did for the first time a couple of months ago and they liked it better than the lettuce (but it clogged the power filter)..
