:I always feed directly from my fingers, never just put worms or whatever in there and leave them.
No, you're not hallucinating; I've read it also, but couldn't even say how long ago it was. Just as a variety thing it's OK to feed meal worms; yep probably want to cut off the heads. ...Boy, the things we do for our animals! Sheesh!
