Hello gents, I love a debate! And into the mix, my yellow belly is 51+", yellow belly is immature at 36", banded mature at 37". All are still growing noticeably not just gaining weight. The rest are juveniles and don't count yet.
The bandeds (pictiventris) are really pretty. Though the large female is dark and darkens through shed cycles her pattern is very distinct. Ground colour is chestnut brown with all the accompaniments of black and white for banding. Her belly is cute with a pleasant picturesque pattern.
Red belly - see Piersons picture.
Yellow belly - (transversa) is a rich charcoal/black with outstanding blothches! Tummy is a gleaming white/cream.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and a LARGE gentle snake may be far more attractive than a small nipper. Good luck.
