The cleaning is not that bad. There is only a little bit of gravel that can easily be scooped out in a few seconds. As far as filtering, the filter does a great job of keeping the water moving and solid wastes don't sit on the bottom for long. Cleaning will be a chore but I only have to do it every month or so now.
The only form of heat I use is the dome lamp with a 100 watt basking bulb and it really does the trick. The warm side of the cage gets into the mid 80s during the day. Also, I buried a cardboard box under the bedding to take up some of the volume and weight.
There is a definite change in the snake's behavior. She's definitely not as afraid to be in the open and she has become a more aggressive feeder.
