Heat Tape Experts please read. ;)

Hey Everyone-

In the next week or 2, I'll be ordering some heat tape for the very first time.
I just have a few questions that I hope some of you can answer....

I have 16 and 17 quart plastic shoe boxes, what size heat tape should I get to put under them? 3 in? 8 watt?

What do I all need to buy with the heat tape? I do know that I need some kind of control like a dimmer or something, so thats already taken care of it. ;)

To wire heat tape, where can I find some instructions online?
