HELP!!! This evening I went in to play with my iguana and his back legs seem paralyzed. He didn't run to eat his food this morning either as he usually does, but otherwise he was fine this morning. We put him on his heat rock and there is a slight improvement, although I don't think he was cold because his color is good. He eats mainly brussel sprouts, carrots, some squash, brocolli, and the occassional banana. He has been given the powdered calcium. He eats no lettuce and only once or twice has he had spinach and that not recently. Although the temperature is quite warm in the iguana tank and he has his heat rock, since he was lying primarily on the gravel today I thought that maybe his food wasn't digesting because lack of heat (it's probably around 78-80 degrees in their.
If anyone knows of an exotic pet vet in Los Angeles that might be open over Memorial weekend and any suggestions it would be great. Tomorrow we will be able to get some liquid vitamins and take him out in the sunlight. In the meantime we would be open to any suggestions.
