Syd's tests came back today. His kidneys are fine. Phosphorus (sp?) levels are fine but he does have a bacterial infection.. which the vet says could have led to his appitite loss. He is staying at the vet one more night to get antibiotics and I think another calcium shot.
Syd pretty much free roamed when we were home so his temp varied. He did however have a basking area. We are adding a UV light as well. We live in No. California so I'm not to worried about overall temps right now until fall. Then we will have to change our tactics. Syd is also eating alot better so the vet said most likely no feeding tube!! :) It looks like (cross your fingers) he is going to pull through okay. I will keep you posted on what the vet says when we pick him up tomorrow.
We have already made alot of changes to our other ig Nancy's enclosure to prevent this from happening to her. She is alot smaller and younger so she doesn't free roam as of yet.
Thank you all for your support and suggestions. Please let me know if you think of anything else we can do. I feel so bad for putting our Syd through this. Not to mention the vet bill! I'm going to hate to see that! YIKES. Syd is well worth it though.
Thank you again,
Christina, Mike, our Ig's Syd & Nancy
