Well thanks for the input.
I already give Nando a fresh salad daily. He likes just about anything I put in front of him. The trouble is keep the fresh stuff fresh--by that I mean the leafy bits. He loves kale but the bunches I buy wilt rather quickly. Didn't used to. Maybe the fridge needs adjustment. Anyway.. I also keep frozen goodies in, including blackberries, spinach, etc. And, yes, I have a chopper. He gets his 'mash' daily.
