ok, i guess this is my 'formal introduction' im Sarah, 14, and live in New England with human family & 1 hedgie, 1 ferret, 5 painted turtles, 6 goldfish, 1 newt, 1 bullfrog, 1 pleco, 2 corydoras catfish, 1 hermit crab, and soon to be an iguana (150g, 75g, 20long g, 10g, 10g, 10g, 10gw/crickets, 5gbucket w/mealworms) i dont know this iguana (Zephyr)s age, and im not too sure if Zephyr is male or female-they refer to him as a him, but when i was over there (ive seen him 2ce) has a slim head, not such pronounced jowels..ya never know (couldnt see pores). 'They' is his current foster family..Zephyr is about 35.ft STL and in a 55g aquarium, on lizard litter, they had him on dog food until i lent them Iguanas for Dummies (Zephyr is now on salads) no UBV light, in adaquate heating and humidity, along with health problems (shedding issues, possibly infected toe, possibly kidney problems, and im sure he has MBD). I already have an exotics veterinarian and he will go as soon as he comes home (wednesday or thursday). the cage (a 260g reptarium, 30" 30" 72", and i know, it is too small. but right now there is no room in my house, im shocked parental unit even let me get Zephyr..ha what can ya say theyre suckers for sick pets too i guess ;) plus its better then the 55g. since its mesh, i plan on wrapping tarp or something around 3 of the sides to help keep in heat & humidity, and attach the lights on top with a fixture (heat/UVB) thingamabob. im not sure yet how to put in shelves/cage levels-uh oh. im thinking i might build the cage up with milk crates temporarily if i dont find a better idea. my moms a little not-happy about him taking baths in the human bathroom, but hey thats where i clean tanks n stuff, it always gets cleaned afterwards...and BTW i have foods (green&red bell peppers, butternut squash, snow peas, parsley,) in the fridge and freezer, their were no greens at the store and this is only temporary foods until i can go majorly shopping at the other grocery store (did i mention i live in the middle of nowhere?)plus a vitamin b1 to add to the frozen..and also i already have a log where im writing down everything so far, especially for the veterinarian and to see Zephyrs progress..just my formal intro (and as i said asbout the reptarium-i am moving again, probably within a year or two, in which case he can get a adaquate kick-arse cage)
