Oh I know how space restrictions are... we were living with some friends when I had Spike in the reptarium. Like you, there was no way I could have had a bigger cage....
It is cheaper to build your own cage, when you are able to. I am finishing up Spike's cage. Have spent about $475-500 or so. Still have to get the glass and track for the doors and heating elements.. thinking of radiant heat panels... But it still comes out way cheaper than having some place build it for me, it is 8 feet wide 7 feet tall and 3 1/2 feet deep (wish I could have made it a full 4 feet deep.. but... well, apartment life sucks...) You can make them even cheaper than I am, but I wanted mine to have that furniture-quaility look. So I went all out on it, and my husband is still growling about the cost lol...
well again good luck to you. If you do choose to someday build your own be sure to ask here, there are some great plans around(especially Wendy's cage for Myka! I used her idea and made a few changes to it to fit my needs)
I like the cham idea :P I may be able to get a pair.. depends on how much the owner wants for them.. I think if I get them I will change the closet in my livingroom into a cage... now where to put all the stuff crammed in it lol : )
