If this iguana was a RES (Red ear Slider turtle) i would say he has a lack of vitamins A/D.This symptom (swollen bulging eyes) is pretty common in RES and can be cured with... sunlight!! *****************************************************************
: This fellow is beautiful despite the obvious deformities, and he's a sweetheart too. I've only seen swollen bulging eyes like this before in 2 cases, both involved tumors. The previous owners say that the eye has been like this for over 3 1/2 years, since he was diagnosed with severe MBD. The disease was treated successfully, husbandry was improved somewhat but still not great. It left him with a very interesting profile. He is seeing a vet at the MSU vet school on Saturday..one with a particular interest in exotics and ophthalmology. Hopefully we'll get some answers then. Meet Lumpy, everyone. :)
