About Iguana tails

as u can see my iguana has been growing rather nicely. i feed him the proper food and i give him ideal conditions to live in. about 2 months back i noticed this "dead" tail. it was at the very end of his tail.. the other day it fell off when he was walking around my room. i was jsut wondering, is it normal for anything like that to happen? Thanks in advance!
