Yes, you can tame big igs too.When i bought/ rescue Godzilla he was already an adult, 2 or 3 years old.He had been taken from the wild and was...ferocious to say the least!!lol!! Its not easy but i dont think its never easy to tame an iguana unless you buy a captive bred baby.Yes, i do have one and what i can say about him is that he is not an iguana, but a cat!!lol!!Godzilla when he is not in the breeding season is very docile and friendly.To say the true in 4 years i have had him this is the first bad breeding season he has. I dont think you should give up or be impatient.Be yourself, rub and pet him a lot even when he doesnt want to see you around.I think you should force your ig to accept you as a friend.Towel him, take him out of the cage, never scold him but show him that trying to bite you or to run away will not help him.Force him to accept you!!

Yr:E hates to be picked up. He death grabs to the nearest thing, wriggles, and claws. I talk to him softly, and when he's really obnoxious, I have to hold him a little tighter than we both like, speaking softly, until he is subdued. I release, and it starts all over again. I even visit him and slowly talk/touch him several times a day, each time he shuns away from my hand. The only time he likes my hand is when there is food(and sometimes he mistakes my hand for it), and tub-time when I am trickling water down his royal majesty's back...It seems a lot of sites and articles about taming iguanas are for young iguanas(under 1 year), are there any for larger iguanas(2+ years)? E doesn't whip, but lately he's gotten hissy and bitey when he doesn't want me to touch him. Do you think he will ever enjoy my company and touch, or do you think he is still afraid to attatch himself to a human, fearing he's going to be given yet another home(he's a rescue, and I'm sure has had many already)?? Thanx for anything...good thing E is cute cuz lately I've been feeling pretty irrate with him :o{

::I'd try to handle him each day for short periods...several times per day. Talk to him softly, hand feed him treats, get him to trust you aren't going to eat him!
