that in my humble opinion its impossible to tame an iguana if you dont have body contact with him.Tame at a distace is not possible regarding iguanas. You have to touch the iguana to tame them.Iguana just love warm hands! My igs love when i press the side of my face against the side of their faces like we were dancing cheek-to-cheek!!lol!

:because i dont hurt them with the towels. If your ig is big thats the only solution to take him out of his cage without being bitten. If he is a baby i think wool gloves will work well.I use towels to cover them when they sleep too!

::In you post you said something about toweling him. When I try to grab my ig he is to fast. I move really slow towards him and maybe I'm moving too slow and that might be a problem. My question is, since he is this fast and the cage is big I don't think it's right for me to chase him around it, would toweling work? Would that freak him out or make him scare of me even more?

:::Yes, you can tame big igs too. When i bought/ rescue Godzilla he was already an adult, 2 or 3 years old.He had been taken from the wild and was...ferocious to say the least!!lol!! Its not easy but i dont think its never easy to tame an iguana unless you buy a captive bred baby.Yes, i do have one and what i can say about him is that he is not an iguana, but a cat!!lol!!Godzilla when he is not in the breeding season is very docile and friendly. To say the true in 4 years i have had him this is the first bad breeding season he has. I dont think you should give up or be impatient.Be yourself, rub and pet him a lot even when he doesnt want to see you around.I think you should force your ig to accept you as a friend.Towel him, take him out of the cage, never scold him but show him that trying to bite you or to run away will not help him.Force him to accept you!!
