Just wondering if my ig is growing at a normal rate or not.

He was measured in oct and was 8 cm snout to vent, measured him today and he was 11cm snout to vent. His snout to tail was 33 cm and today it was 41cm. that is an overall growth of 8 cm, Why is his tail also growing so much faster that his body?
