Sounds like you're getting up to speed quickly...;) Couple things... Get rid of the "wood chips" if you haven't already. If your ig accidently ingests any they COULD lead to bowel impaction. Regular newspaper works well and lends it'self to changing more easily than the reptibark.
I'm curious as to what brand of bulb that the store sold your son that didn't fit in the dome completely.
What are you using for a UVB source?
What do you have these guys on as far as diet goes?
Oh... Your best bet would be to get a copy of James Hatfield's "Green Iguana: The Ultimate Owner's Handbook" when you can. Lot of good husbandry info contained in it....
