New Iguana as a Christmas present

Hello! I just got this new Ig for christmas, and while I've read many caresheets and my parents gave me a book on care, I'm still a bit lost on some things. The book my folks gave me is about ten years old, so I'm just using it for extreme basics. Also, the store where it was bought isn't the best...it's gottne a lot better, but I still don't trust them to keep their animals healthy. Anyway. I've heard that all letuce is bad for igs, but I've also heard that Romaine lettuce is okay? Mine's been eating quite a lot of Romain lettuce, but I've only had it for a few days. And what about carrots/ They haven't been mentioned at all anywhere, as toxic or non?

Also, how exactly do I sex them? I've checked where the femoral pores are supposed to be, but I don't see any at all. Lol. And is there anyway I can tell how old it is? It's pretty small, so I know it's still juvenile...Well, I think I know. Um, haven't exactly mesured it, but i'd say, not counting tail, it's about, I dunno, six, seven inches. With tail it's a lot longer. I have it in a rather small aquarium because I was unprepared for it, seeing as how it was a gift, but I have plans for a much larger one within the week. I have a "nocturnal infared heat lamp" on it, as well as a uv light. Is that right? I don't know if the UV light is 2.0 or 5.0, but seeing as how it's a small aquarium I figured it'd be adequate until I get it a better one.

And what should I use as bedding? My parents got this stuff, it's made of groud walnut shells...it's for dessert reptiles, but it claims it's safe. I hope it is, because I don't have anything else right now. We're even out of paper towels right now.

I have a small pan of water and a dish of food, and a nice driftwood log for it to bask on. Will this be sufficient for a while? Anyway. I'm a little panicky, don't mind me. Um...Just now, while watching my ig, I noticed that it seems to be a little drowsy? It just ate, is it normal for them to get sleepy atfer eating? It's about one pm...Lol, I really am a worry wart. But, yes, please reply soon. Thank you!
