Welcome to the forum from Sleestack and me. Iguanas probably aren't the best Christmas presents since they end up being a lifetime of hard work, but I am glad you are excited about your new pet.

The others covered your questions well below (especially choice of nutritious greens and UV lighting). If you want an all in one heat and UV light when you build a bigger cage, you can also get the Zoomed Powersun or T-rex Active UV. These are more expensive but can be used up to a year and give off stronger UV rays. Otherwise just get the Zoomed 5.0 light that is strictly UV and no heat...that will last 6 months (then you will have to change it because the UV diminishes).

Get rid of that old book! It is useless except for the nice photos!

Find a good reptile vet and get a FRESH fecal sample to them.

Post some photos when you can since we'd all like to see your new baby....my baby, Sleestack, is pictured here.
