For size reference, this picture was taken in July and Phil is quite a bit bigger now. He is doing great. The litter training problem is solved and Phil is on his way to becoming a free roamer. I leave the door to his cage open, and he is allowed climb around on his windowsill and on top of his cage. If he leaves his area, he goes back in the cage and the door is closed. It works pretty well, so far. I'm sure he's up to all sorts of dastardly things when I'm not looking, however.

We are going to New Mexico for Thanksgiving (10 hour drive) and Phil is coming with, which means it's back into the dreaded dog crate. I'm afraid that the removal of Phil's newfound freedom is going to cramp his style more than just a little bit. Unfortunately, my father has a cat and there will be no free roaming while we're there.

So I need some comfy caging solutions (Phil is 13 months now and he is getting huge!) that will be car-sized but not traumatic. His carrying crate is getting to be way too small. Please let me know what you've had success with. Thanks,
-Lily and Phil
