Hey Linda, sounds like the ceramic heater is doing enough heating already.

The issue here is the black light u use.
Black lights are still under debate, and many believe the "blue" wave they emit is somewhat annoying to the iguanas, and may not be the best light used at night.

The color often used for animals at night is red, since apparantely the red waves are more soothing and less visible than blue.

Now, I'm no scientist so all this may not be right. By now maybe someone has done some studies on the black lights effects on photoperiods.

Anywas, I'd lose the black light and stick with ceramics.

A cool trick a friend of mine used to do is use either red or orange lights to simulate dusk and dawn, put on timers. I thought it was a nifty idea.

See what happens w/o the light.
As long as the animal is not cold, u're fine.
