Actually, most people don't drive across the border here in Canada to buy their stuff. This is because of a wonderful thing called DUTY TAX. The duty tax from buying products from US is so absolutly ridiculous that anyone who does their shopping this way is a moron that must LIKE to waste a whole lot of their money. Not only that but our exchange rate is so pathetic that our money cant buy anything there anyways without us paying at least 50% more for it. So a $5 item in the US would cost us $8 of our own money plus duty. Our gov. does this so that we keep our money in our economy, instead of adding to the already bloated economy of the US.
People who are conceren about taxes on mercahndise here will make major purchases (cars, appliances) in Alberts where the taxes are a measly 7%. Compared to the 20% and up of other provinces its a good deal. Compared to the 30% and up of duty, theres really no debate.
In any case I feel that my concern of paying $100 (when I only make $700 a month full time) for a bulb that repeadedly burns out and that I can't get decent customer service for, is very valid.
Here in Canada, when you buy a US product with a return policy on the box, you take up the return policy with the US company on the box. Not with the store that happened to sell it to you.
Please dont be so rude to everyone.
This man has given us a chance to express concerns (however small you feel they may be) about a product. So thats what we are all doing. Whether you feel they are valid or not, is probably none of his concern, as he is answering them, no?
