just got a baby green iguana

I just got a baby green iguana yesterday and it's very very skitish, as soon as my hand is within 6" of it it does the indy 500 around the cage LOL!!. I hope it calms down a bit,do you think that it will after a while of me talking and handling it?. I think it ate some letuce today but i'm not sure(didn't see it),if it didn't how could i entice it to eat something.Thanks for any help,
