well it is running around like that because it is scared. especially when he/she sees your hands coming at them from above. a baby ig feels it is being attacked. it will take him/her a while to calm down and settle in. just be slow with your movements and handle your ig gently.
Stop feeding it lettuce! Lettuce is terrible for igs. Instead use collard greens, mustard greens, dandelion greens, and turnip greens. and don't forget to give him/her water. do you have a UVB light and a light for heat?
if this is your first iguana, definately pick up the book Green Iguana-The Ultimate Owner's Manual by James W. Hatfield. it has vital information in it that all ig owners should know. also, there are lots of great ig sites that will help you out. check this out for starters...
