Alright... I've been taking Gir out and doing everything I can think of to get him used to me, and we're doing GREAT... he loves coming out and has just gotten so inquisitive. I love him to death...

And I have a BIG worry now... I noticed as his tail started to shed that he had a patch of skin, about... two inches below his vent, that was black... unlike the rest of him... so I washed it in the tub with some warm water and have been keeping an eye on it. Yesterday we went outside, and had a lovely little walk around in the sunshine... He really seemed to like that.

But today, when I went to get him OUT of his enclosure for our "quality time" I noticed that his tail is positively DEFORMED! It's bubbled up under the shedding layer of skin, sort of, and the black spot is still there... but about an inch or two below the black spot, is a part of the tail that looks like it's DECAYING!

Someone please tell me what I can do? I don't have a reptile vet near enough to me to get him to it... and I haven't started my new job yet and money is tight... I need some HELP! I don't want anything to happen to Gir and I feel so bad now... like I've failed in taking care of him and it's just eating me up!

Angel ~ Very distraught
