Hello. Some of you may remember me, I used to post quite often. My iguanas name is Roxy, and I adopted here about two years ago from Reptile Rescue Canada in Ontario. :)

Well I am sad to say we are having some very difficult issues here. Roxy has been a PERFECTLY healthy iguana for the last two years. Let me give you the info I know you will ask for :) ::::

DIET: Collard Greens, Butternut Squash, Spagettie Squash, Mustard Greens, etc all acceptable iguana foods! Alaways healthy treats as well. Normally eats 2-6 BOWLS, and has always been an excellent eater.

CAGE: 6 feet long, 6 feet high, 5 feet deep. Plexi Glass, Wood, two 4 foot long UVB lights changed every 6 months, potty trained to go in cat pan, cleaned everyday. Basking spot 95...cool dark area for hiding etc.

Roxy is 6 years old, pushing 5 and a half feet.

Roxy moved into her "new" cage about a year ago, and up until about two months ago things were going perfect. During Christmas time Roxy laid 40 eggs with no problems and vet checks are all perfect.

Two months ago Roxy stopped eating. Roxy also stopped going to the floor of her cage. She has also started bobbing her head which she has never done before, in an almost mechanical fashion. Nothing around her cage has changed, but just in case, last month I coevered most of her windows with a dark green sheet. No help.

She refuses to eat. She is quickly wasting away. I have no problems taking her to a vet but nothing has been found wrong with her. At all. Nothing in x-ray nothing in blood.

I would hand/force feed her but here is where the OTHER issues come in. Roxy has is basically acting as if she has gone mad. During the day she will THROW herself at the windows, covered or not, and boink off them and fall to the ground then do it again. this is the ONLY time she will touch the ground. Otherwise she has even taken to pooping from a branch.

Roxy also throws fits once-twice three times a day. Violent fits, thrashing, thorwing herself, flipping around at 100 miles per hour, etc. It's to the point she will attack anyone who goes in, and almost hurt herself. I have even covered the windows INSIDE because I thought hey, even though her reflection never bothered her before maybe it does now? Nope. Didn't help. Its getting erally bad.

I need advice. If I had to sum up her behaviour in a short sentence I would say my iguana is slowly going mad. And no, I am not a "newbie" I understand normal breeding aggresion and other forms of aggresion etc....I am an experienced herper...and I have no clue whats going on.

help?
