I was helping Lizard shed some of his spikes today. They were all wet and were coming off pretty easily. Then I noticed that the tip of one of the spikes was bleeding right after I'd gotten the old skin off! I looked in the shed spike and it looked like there was something sitting in the top of it. Was that a little bit of even older skin, or did I somehow pull the top of his spike off??! I feel really terrible about doing that to him. :-( I put a little hydrogen peroxide on where it was bleeding. I've helped him shed spikes lots of times before without this happening; I don't know what's going on this time. :-/ He's not acting like he's in any pain (not that that means much with an iguana). Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?
