Most of the igs I have owned, I have adopted as adults. They were not handled much and react outrageously, some have been easily tamed, others I haven't been able to tame at all, The igs I haven't been able to tame are the ones that enjoy the acrobatic croc roll in my arms...I am scared to death they will break their backs, They don't seem to have any fear of injuring themselves (but have injured me plenty with their claws). I try to stick by the rule of not letting them win, but, again, I am terrified of them hurting themselves. Am I worrying about nothing, and will the ig settle down before it hurts itself? I have one ig in particular, I've had him/her for 2 years....tried the extremely sloooooowwwww approach(hands in the cage while I talk, feed him, clean the cage...no touch) for months, and still to this day he is the ig we call "psycho". We have recently let him free roam part of day, and he loves it, but I don't trust him.....I guess I got off the subject...I want to know if anyone has experienced an ig severely injuring itself doing the croc roll......any input would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!
