There used to be talk about a method on training nile monitors and tegus from not biting...that was using a sour apple spray, but I dont know if that would work with iguanas. Being your iguana doesnt know you too well...and they are capable of infliciting serious wounds requiring stitches, I would probably recommend go a bit slower if he is biting.
