going on vacation. eating issues.....

i am going on vacation for 8 days and wondered if i fed my iguanas alot the day and day before alot would they be fine without food for that long. i have timers for the heat lamp and would leave a big bowl of water but dont want them to feel starved. please let me know. the pet sitters here are expensive.
