Iguana and other pets?

I know that an iguana should never come in direct contact with any other pets. What I want to know is what other people do when they have other pets. Do you keep your iguana's cage in a room that the other pets never enter? I'm wondering how much a ferret would stress an iguana? Again, I know they should never come in direct contact, I just wonder how the iguana would react to having a ferret (or other pet) run by the cage, or even peer in the cage.
