Yesterday I had obi wan out trying to get him used to me. Well he decides to make a break for it. After I caught him and calmed him I held him for about 5 more minutes or so. When I put him back in his cage I noticed he wasn't using his front left leg!!! I found a vet about 30 minutes away that said he had a lot of experience with iguanas. My husband rushed him there cause they were about to close. When Obi Wan was at the vet he acted like nothing was wrong and used the leg he hadn't been. I think because he was in a weird place he didnt want to show that he was hurt. Anyways, the vet looked him over and couldn't find anything wrong. He said it could be a hairline fracture and gave us some neo-calglucon to supplement his calcium intake. I have to give him .4 ml daily. He also said that if it was a bad break their wouldn't have been much he could have done. He said he put pins in one iguanas leg once.
I kind of wish we would have waited until today to take him in so I could have gone. Their was a lot of questions I wanted to ask. I know a lot more about him and his history than my husband. I wanted him to get a full check up and all that.
Oh, well. I think I will take him to the vet in Tacoma when I get paid. Oh, and when Obi Wan got back home he stopped using the left front leg again. Or he sort of uses it but barely.
