Plastic Plants and vines

Hello:
Would like to know if Plastic Plants and Vines are ok for Iguanas. Purchased a few plant type vines for his cage yesterday and as soon as I put them in he ran over to them and ripped off a section... He immeadiatly spit it out, realizing it's not his food.
