He looks plump, but his back legs look skinny. Do you have a UV light and feed him calcium rich food? (just making sure) If your diet, calcium, or lighting is off, it may account for the bump too. I can't really see it too well....does he have one on the other side? If he does, they may be his bones...sometimes the ribs look odd.

If the bump is only ever on the one side, I would get it checked by a vet...may need treatment.

As far as enjoying petting, some say their igs do. I feel mine mostly tolerate it. Closing their eyes is NOT a sign of enjoyment if you pay close attention to your ig...they are usually trying to ignore you or hope you go away. It is a good reaction in the step to taming them though. It's better than running away.
