I read your diet and about your UVB,so I'm glad you're gonna take him to the vet.
Now as to igs liking contact with humans,,,I've got movies,pics and witnesses that will show how my girl Cirsis would come out of the window off her pillow and come lay her head on another pillow on my lap,throw her arms back and close her eyes and hold her head up for her daily pettings.She did this everyday for yrs and when she'd had enough petting,,,off she'd go into the waterbed.
I do believe igs enjoy us.
Boy how I miss my daily petting with Cirsis.I miss her terribly.
Good luck with the hip,,,I couldn't tell from the pic what might be going on.
