A couple of things:

I think the only way I'll feel better about the lump is if I take him to the vet, I have to take him anyway to get blood work done, I just need to actually get there. Finals will be over next week! :) The more I look, the more I honestly can't tell what it is.

He does have a UV light that he is almost always basking under plus he is close to large windows and does get some direct sunlight in that way. More into the summer I'd like to try to get him outside if I can.

For food I've been sticking to the same base, but have been playing with extras to see what he seems to like, what goes bad the quickest, etc. This is what I've been doing. The base has always consisted of mustard and collard greens (he LOVES mustard greens). Then as extras I've been experimenting with green, red, and yellow bell peppers, snow peas, green beans, beat greens, bean sprouts, squash, escarole, and a little yellow squash. For some fruit snacks I've only tried strawberries (which he honestly didn't even seem to care for), and some honey dew which he really seemed to like. I alternate each week and make a big salad with different stuff. He eats well and while he picks out the "good stuff" first, he does eventually finish it all up. I do suppliment a vitamin powder that I think I mix up well enough that he can't pick it out, but I think I should try another, more tastey method. :)

And lastly, as silly as this sounds, I think that humans (namely myself) try to interpret animal behavior like we interpret our own when the case is clearly different. When I see him closing his eyes to signal my petting, this is my interpretation of what I would do if I wanted to be pet instead of his trying to ignore me. I am glad that you pointed this out to me. It is very easy to get wrapped up in how cute he looks and want to cuddle when clearly he is still a wild animal that should not be cuddled. :) I think I may continue contact only to aid in the taming process.

Thanks for you help, let me know if there are things that I need to improve upon and I'll try to keep you posted with the lumps.
Thanks,
Shanna
