scaredy-ig??

Hi all!
I just had a small concern about my ig. She's about 10 months old now and in the past month or two she's become really shy - she spends 90% of her time UNDER things, including her ig pillows, hide-log and blankie-towel. I've been leaving her cage partially unzipped so I can get in it without unzipping it (the noise seems to scare her), an! today I found her happily perched on TOP of the cage! When I tried to pick her up she ran down behind the closet (blah, blah, 10-minute chase around the room). I just wondered if I should be holding her more - when I do she just kind of sits in my hand. I've had her for about 6 months now and she seems to be more shy now. Any suggestions? Thanks everybody!
