Mine did the same thing when she was small. I have lots of fake plants in her cage, and I would "loose" her in there. She would hide so well, that I would have to pat down all the plants till she wiggled to give herself away. Sigh, I had almost forgotten she was that small! I think it is just normal for them to be more afraid when they are small. The fact that she calmly sits on your hand once she is out is a good sign. I used to have to chase mine around her enclosure to get her out, but once out, she was calm too. She is growing into a nice fat sub-adult now, who is not afraid of anything!
: Hi all!
: I just had a small concern about my ig. She's about 10 months old now and in the past month or two she's become really shy - she spends 90% of her time UNDER things, including her ig pillows, hide-log and blankie-towel. I've been leaving her cage partially unzipped so I can get in it without unzipping it (the noise seems to scare her), an! today I found her happily perched on TOP of the cage! When I tried to pick her up she ran down behind the closet (blah, blah, 10-minute chase around the room). I just wondered if I should be holding her more - when I do she just kind of sits in my hand. I've had her for about 6 months now and she seems to be more shy now. Any suggestions? Thanks everybody!
