How do you all transport to the vet????

I am in Chicago and taking Lizzy to vet tonight. It is quite cold today.
Have been wrapping her in a blanket, have a very long narrow box that I have a blanket in and one of my fleece robes, hoping my scent will help calm her down on the robe.
Yes heat in the car but any suggestins cause I have about a 30 minute travel in traffic.
Last time they put Lizzy into a cage there with lights etc. to warm her before I left on my trip back home.
