I am thinking of buying an iguana. I have been keeping herps for over 6 years now. I've had many snakes, chameleons and geckos. I am looking at an iguana because I would like a more 'interactive' herp pet.
I am wondering if there is an iguana species that doesn't reach the 5 to 6 foot length of the common Green Iguana that is found so readliy in pet stores. I also tend to lean more toward the more uncommon herps that are available as pets.
I have read that adult females can have a problem with egg binding. Is this a very common occurance? What, would you say, is the average cost to have a female spayed? I know males can be aggressive but I like how impressive they look when full grown. Do males have a common ailment that plagues them?
I appreciate any and all help you can give me. Thank you.
