Humidity: Iguanas need between 95% to 100% humitidy, w/ the cage well vented
cage WELL vented, this means, mesh or other types of screens around most of the enclosure, or, yes, you would kill it....these are the standards I go by because I build my cages this way.
If I was making a caresheet, no, I would not put this, but I was proving a point.
What the hell is " FULL spectrum lighting " ?
That would be sunlight dear:)
: Iguanas need a full diet of Calcium, and Phosporus to maintain good health.
: They need ( idealy ) a 2 to 1 ratio .
: Also what is needed is UVB, AND full spectrum lighting (that is why some of my cages are outside)
: What the hell is " FULL spectrum lighting " ? They need UVB and HEAT lights .
: Water: Iguanas should always have a water bowl in their cage, but will more than likely deficate in it. Clean water bowl EVERY day! Mist cages 2 to 3 times a day,
: Yep they need a water bowl . Misting is one way to keep the humidity up .
: b/c iguanas like to lick their water from the sides of the cage.
: Iguanas like to lick everything ..
: Humidity: Iguanas need between 95% to 100% humitidy, w/ the cage well vented
: If you do manage to get 95 percent humidity and maintain it you will kill your iguana !!! The water will condense in his lungs and he will drown !!!!
: Housing: cages should be made at a min. of 6x4x4
: For ADULTS yes . But putting a juvie in a cage that big is asking for broken toes and or leggs . Iguanas are clumsy and fall allot .
: Food: Iguanas MUST have greens to maintain a healthy diet. This includes..Dandelion greens, mustard greens, collard greens, turnip greens, etc.
: Other things such as fruits can be added.
: Good start ..
: AVOID: Kale, brocolli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and other cabages
: I would not use the word Avoid . You can feed and of these thing as a PART of a daily diet with no problems .
: Iguanas should be checked every day for lumps, abseces, loose stools, and other things that may be indicate a health problem
: You could but you would be the first to do it daily . Poop will change with tempature time of year and diet .
: A veterinarian who is qualified to treat lizards and iguanas is the always best.
: No you need one that has done it not one that thinks he know what he is doing
: also, a veterinarian who can make house calls if needed, can provide service anytime...or can refer you to another QUALIFIED veterinarian if he cannot assist at a
: certain time
: House calls are good . A back up is also good ..
