I am finally building a new cage for Jupiter. He is about 2 ft long STL.
CAGE:
The cage will be 6ft long, 6ft wide and 4ft deep. The front wall will be wood and glass (or plexiglass), with 2 large floor to ceiling doors. The other three walls and the floor will be wood (lined with some kind of sheeting to clean easier and repel water). The two side walls will have 2 1ft by 1ft screens (one at the top and one at the bottom) for ventilation. The top will be screen as well (the screen I think will end up being 1/4inch screen). There will also be a humidifier (2 gallon cool mist) that I am going to try to run pvc tubes inside to mist, or I may place the whole thing inside.
LIGHTS: Here are the questions.
First--just how much UVB should Jupiter have.
I plan on placing the lights on the outside of the cage on the top. Now, I am not sure what lights to use. I am debating on either 2 24" tubes (UVB) or 1 48" tube (UVB). Would that be ok? I also plan on using either 1 or 2 basking lights--can I use regular incandescant lights for those? And should I even bother using a night light--my apt is almost always about 70 degrees F.
Thank you, Mike
