Whats happend to my iguana?!? I posted here about a week or so ago about my iguana not shedding etc. Anyway, he started a few days ago around the face, legs etc. He's not eating much, which I expected, and he is extremely irate! This, I didn't expect. He's normally very tame.ie - has no problems with me getting him out of his cage, likes being petted(sp?) etc. To make a long story short, I was able to get him out of his cage today, finally! to give him a bath. He didn't try to bite me at the time but was sort of threatening me with his tail and had his mouth open. I should of let well enough alone, but I put him in the tub anyway. I didn't want to give in to him. When I got him out 20min later, I was drying him off and he started to climb on my shoulder. He was all puffed up with air, dewlap extended etc. 1/2 sec. later he lunged at my face and tagged me on the cheek. ouch!!! Is this normal behavior during shedding times? I did grab him and scold him afterwards. I hope that's O.K. He has NEVER acted aggressive at all.(although I've only had him since Nov.98) He's about 18 mo. old, 33" total length,8.5"svl. Could it be related to breeding season?? Help....(sorry for the long post..)
