Shame about the tail, make sure it doesnt get infected or anything. (keep the cage clean)
About him not eating, this is pretty normal for a new iguana in a new cage, new people, it will take a while to get comfortable, but make sure he does eat fairly soon.
What are you feeding him? Are the pieces small enough for him to eat? Are you supplementing vitamins/minerals?
You should take him for a vet check up anyways seeing as hes new. Rather be safe, mabye there is a medical reason he's not eating
