Guy did bite off the tips of my fingers before, by accident, but it was just flesh/fingernail damage. I managed to keep the damage out of my mother's sight untill it healed(about 6 weeks) This boy sounds like he had his entire first joint torn off. Too bad they killed the ig because of it, though.
