Depending on the condition of his kidneys and liver, and a few other things, he can recover from his condition to some extent, sometimes a lot. Normal calcium metabolism can be restored in many cases.
Many igs live a good portion of their remaining lives in comfort and good spirits despite disabilities such as nerve damage to limbs. Some need to be carried to the tub to poop, but all my igs get that anyway ;-)
Is there a vet experienced with igs that you can see? There are well-known procedures for helping igs with this problem.
