First thing to do will be to get a full blood panel done on him/her. Concentrate on the Calcium, phosphorous, and B levels. You might also want to consider having the D3 levels checked as well as this could be a good opportunity for you to do some "research".
On top of MBD, there is also the possibility of Vitamin B deficiency paralysis happening. We recently encountered it ourselves for the first time. Back legs and tail simply won't work and dragaround. The bowel may also be affected thereby inhibiting the igs ability to go the bathroom at all.
Personally, I would try B therapy before treating for MBD. MBD therapy is more long term treatment. Results from B injections can be seen, reportedly, in as little as 8 hours. Our results took almost 24 hours and also 2 injections.
