I'm building a new habitat for my lizard. It should be 5 1/2 ft wide, 2 1/2 ft deep and 6 or 7 ft tall. I'm planning on including several "bookshelves" at various heights to help thermoregulation and give him different views. I was going to fabricate a log out of lumber to connect them all, but that is getting structurally complicated. I'm considering using less lumber and trying to incorporate a rope ladder or two to add variety, flexibility and make it look more 'viney' or natural.

I thought that I could make a cargo net, but I was afraid that he'd become tangled in it.

I'm considering a thick rope with some overhand knots in it (like on the kid's jungle gym) might be a better idea.

Plastic link chains or garden netting may be good, but I'm trying for a more natural look.

I did a search and saw that someone was concerned about their ig chewing on rope.

Y'all have any other ideas or comments?

Thanks,
Ar
