Ok all you know it all people please site one place ( scientific journal ) where a green iguana is classified as a herbivore . Can't ? Because they are classified as omnivorous . While it is a common belief that large amounts of animal can cause harm to the green iguana there has never been a long term study much less a multi generational study to back this up . It is also a fact that green iguanas on the wild eat all kinds of animal protein from bugs to any small animal they catch . That said it is known that green iguanas feed a strictly animal protein diet over a short time develop health problems . So let's just not feed our iguanas animal protein but don't have a heart attack if you see one eat a cricket .
