Huh? My "save your money" comment was directed at purchasing 'specialty' reptile bulbs merely for basking purposes, NOT a shot at ActiveUv's. 200% mark up on the same incandescent as can be had from a hardware store is just plain silly.
I have personally no experience with the Active's, so have no opinion either way. I do not form opinions until they are my own; developed through actual experience.
I do hope to try them at some point in time, however. Currently up here in Western Canada, they are virtually non-available, and when I do see them at a show, $90+ is pretty prohibative. Once the now various brands hit pet stores, and good 'ol competition bring down the price a little, I do plan on picking one up for my own evaluation.
